Privacy Policy for The Floor Method
Effective date: August 12, 2026
The Floor Method LLC ("we," "us"), a Wyoming LLC, operates The Floor Method. We built this product privacy-first, and this policy explains what we collect and how we treat it.
Our privacy-first approach
We try to collect as little as possible. Where we can, health tracking data stays on your device, and we use an anonymous device identifier rather than requiring an account. We do not sell your data, and we never sell or share your health data for advertising.
1. Information we collect
- Purchase and account data: your email and payment confirmation. Payment card details are handled by our third-party processor, not stored by us.
- Consumer health data you enter (the app): your uric acid readings, flare logs, symptoms, and journal entries. We treat this as sensitive health data (see Section 4).
- Technical data: basic device and usage information such as IP address, device type, and app or page interactions, used to run and improve the Product.
- Anonymous tool totals: the free uric acid interpreter runs in your browser. If you check a number there, we count the value itself, never anything about you, in anonymous totals (no IP address, no account, no identifier), so we can publish honest population statistics.
2. How we use your information
To deliver the Product, process payment, provide support, send transactional messages, keep the service secure, meet legal obligations, and (only if you opt in) send you marketing you can unsubscribe from anytime. In the app, your health entries are used to give you your own tracking, charts, and trigger insights.
3. How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share only with:
- Service providers (for example, payment processor, email platform, hosting, analytics) under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Legal requirements, if we must comply with law or protect rights and safety.
- A business transfer, if the company is acquired, with notice to you.
- Anyone you explicitly consent to.
We do not share your consumer health data for third-party advertising or sell it, ever.
4. Consumer health data (important)
Some of what you can enter, such as uric acid numbers and flare logs, is "consumer health data" under laws like Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar state laws.
- We collect it only to provide the tracking and insight features you ask for, with your consent.
- We do not sell it and do not share it for advertising.
- You can withdraw consent, and access or delete this data, at any time by using the in-app controls or emailing us.
- Where required, we maintain a separate consumer-health-data notice and honor the specific rights those laws provide.
5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Nothing described here runs until our consent gate allows it. In the UK and the EEA nothing loads until you opt in. Everywhere else the default is to allow, a decline is remembered, and a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser is treated as a decline everywhere. This policy page itself loads nothing at all.
When allowed, the marketing site at thefloormethod.net uses:
- Google Analytics 4, to count visits and see which pages get read.
- Google Ads, to measure whether an ad we paid for led to a purchase, and to build advertising audiences.
- Microsoft Clarity, which records an anonymized replay of how a page was used, meaning mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling. Anything typed into an input box or a dropdown is masked by Clarity in every mode and never reaches us, and our email forms carry an explicit masking attribute on top of that.
- A Reddit advertising pixel and an OpenAI advertising pixel, which tell those platforms that an ad led to a visit.
- Microsoft Advertising (UET), on the marketing site only, which tells Microsoft that an ad on Bing led to a visit or a purchase. It loads only after consent, like everything above, and we do not use it to build audiences.
The app at app.thefloormethod.net uses Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, and the same two advertising pixels. It does not record sessions.
You can decline all of it from the bar at the bottom of any page, on either the marketing site or the app, or by turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser. One answer covers both, so a decline made while reading is still a decline at checkout. Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see Section 7).
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data, to opt out of marketing, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" (we do not sell or share for ads regardless). To exercise these, email contact@thefloormethod.net. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information, including health data.
- Washington (My Health My Data Act) and similar states: specific consumer-health-data rights, including consent withdrawal and deletion, as described in Section 4.
- EU/UK (GDPR), if applicable: rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, with consent as our basis for health data.
8. How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, but we design to minimize what we hold and to keep sensitive data protected.
9. Children's privacy
The Product is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we will delete it promptly if we learn we have.
10. Third-party links
The Product may link to third-party sites or products (for example, a lab test or a uric acid meter). Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will change the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
